MN-Gov - Steve Kelley coming up on Paula Zahn on CNN

Far be it for any of us to pre-empt the coverage of the tragedy in Sago...but if you're watching, keep an eye on CNN.  Minnesota state senator Steve Kelley, candidate for Governor here in the Northstar State, will be on briefly along with Scott Cameron, a Vietnam vet and volunteer for the Kelley campaign, discussing the controversy over the REMEMBER OUR FALLEN HEROES sign Cameron placed in the campaign's storefront window in Duluth (with the Senator's approval).  It's a solid issue and Senator Kelley has a solid approach - it's not about pro- or anti-war, it's an issue of free speech.

Take a look, whether you're in Minnesota or not.  I've spent a lot of time working and blogging for Senator Kelley, and he is a solid candidate with a great chance to beat Tim Pawlenty in November. At some point tonight, I'll be posting my thoughts over at http://mncr.blogspot.com. Take a look there too :)

Minnesota campaign fundraising numbers - upcoming surprises?

[Also posted at Minnesota Campaign Report and dKos]
In a relatively slow news week, I've been thinking about the year-end fundraising totals. Unless candidates start Enron-ing their numbers, it's very difficult to spin a campaign's success at raising money. While it's not a hard-and-fast rule that campaigns which raise more money than their opponents always win, having more cash on hand than the competition certainly helps.

If you're a political junkie like me, you know that OpenSecrets.org is electronic crack. It's incredibly enlightening to see how a candidate or elected official's rhetoric compares to their sources of campaign contributions.
